In a significant move to enhance social stability and improve the quality of life for Emirati families, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved a housing benefits package worth AED6.75 billion ($1.84 billion). This initiative follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Supporting Over 4,300 Emirati Citizens
The latest package is set to benefit 4,356 Emirati citizens across Abu Dhabi. It comprises:
- Housing loans totaling AED5.08 billion, allocated to 3,172 citizens.
- Land grants and ready-built houses valued at AED1.585 billion, benefiting 1,100 citizens.
- Exemptions from housing loan repayments worth more than AED94.8 million, assisting 84 senior citizens, limited-income retirees, and beneficiaries of deceased citizens.
Cumulative Housing Benefits Surpass AED168 Billion
With this latest allocation, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has now delivered more than 123,000 housing benefits since its establishment, amounting to an impressive AED168.85 billion in total.
As the first housing package of 2025, this initiative comes ahead of Eid al-Fitr, reflecting the leadership’s dedication to fostering comprehensive development, promoting family well-being, and ensuring social stability.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, emphasized the leadership’s commitment to addressing citizens’ housing needs and aspirations. “The approval of this housing benefits package demonstrates our leadership’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Emirati families. These initiatives foster social cohesion and contribute to the overall stability of Abu Dhabi.”
Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, highlighted the alignment of this package with the Year of Community goals, which focus on social cohesion and the vital role of adequate housing in building a prosperous society. He added that the authority continues to enhance its programs and services to ensure efficient access to suitable housing for all citizens, in line with Abu Dhabi’s long-term vision for sustainable development.
Previous Housing Initiatives
Last year, Sheikh Khaled approved a similar housing and benefits package worth AED2.18 billion, benefiting 1,502 citizens ahead of Eid al-Fitr. This year’s larger allocation underscores the leadership’s enduring commitment to supporting Emirati families and strengthening the housing sector in Abu Dhabi.
