A milestone moment in the UAE’s vision for social stability and citizen prosperity
Abu Dhabi, March 28, 2025 —
In a major stride towards enhancing the welfare and stability of Emirati citizens, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved a landmark housing benefits package valued at AED6.75 billion (USD 1.84 billion).
This transformative initiative, issued under the wise and generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, is set to provide vital housing support to 4,356 citizens across the emirate — a bold reflection of the leadership’s enduring commitment to the social and economic wellbeing of its people.
Empowering Citizens Through Homes, Land, and Relief
This far-reaching package is designed to address the diverse housing needs of Emirati families by offering a mix of financial aid and direct housing solutions:
- AED5.08 billion in housing loans will be distributed among 3,172 citizens, empowering them to construct or purchase homes that reflect their aspirations.
- AED1.585 billion has been allocated for land grants and ready-built homes, benefiting 1,100 citizens who will now have immediate access to secure and comfortable housing.
- In a move that underscores compassion and social responsibility, AED94.8 million worth of housing loan exemptions will be granted to 84 senior citizens, low-income retirees, and families of deceased citizens, easing their financial burdens and ensuring a dignified quality of life.
A Legacy of Housing Support
With the approval of this new package, the cumulative value of housing benefits delivered by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority since its establishment now exceeds AED168.85 billion, directly enriching the lives of over 123,000 Emiratis.
This initiative is not only the first major disbursement for 2025 but also holds special meaning as it precedes the holy occasion of Eid Al-Fitr — a time of giving, community, and renewal. The timing underscores the leadership’s heartfelt dedication to supporting its citizens during moments of spiritual and familial significance.
Leadership’s Vision: Building Homes, Strengthening Society
Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, lauded the initiative as a cornerstone of national development:
“The leadership’s directives to disburse this housing benefits package reflect a visionary approach to governance — one that places citizen wellbeing at the heart of national progress. These efforts enhance quality of life, promote social cohesion, and reinforce the sense of stability and belonging across Abu Dhabi.”
The housing strategy aligns with the broader UAE Vision for inclusive development, where every citizen is seen not just as a beneficiary of services, but as a key contributor to the nation’s future. By addressing the fundamental human need for housing, the government continues to pave the way for a prosperous, united, and empowered society.
Looking Ahead
As Abu Dhabi continues its journey toward becoming one of the world’s most livable and citizen-focused cities, initiatives like this housing benefits package will play a crucial role. More than infrastructure, it’s about investing in people — their dreams, their families, and their future.
The UAE’s leadership once again sets a powerful example of responsive governance, rooted in generosity, foresight, and a deep understanding of the people it serves.
