Dubai has unveiled the world’s largest visa application center in Wafi City, a major step in reinforcing its role as a global leader in innovation, connectivity, and smart services. Operated by VFS Global, the state-of-the-art facility spans 150,000 square feet and is equipped to process up to 10,000 visa applications per day—the highest capacity of any such center worldwide.
A team of over 400 trained professionals representing more than 25 nationalities will manage operations at the center, offering a seamless and efficient visa application experience to applicants from over 200 nationalities.
Strengthening Dubai’s Global Connectivity
The center was officially inaugurated by Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism; Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai; and Zubin Karkaria, Founder and CEO of VFS Global Group.
Zubin Karkaria highlighted the significance of the center in Dubai’s broader vision:
“In the two decades since we began operations in the UAE, we’ve seen it emerge as a global leader in business and innovation. Launching the world’s largest visa application center here reflects that journey and supports continued global engagement.”
Supporting Dubai’s Economic Vision
The new facility plays a key role in advancing the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which prioritizes enhanced mobility, international partnerships, and ease of access for global visitors and businesses.
“This is not just about infrastructure,” said Helal Saeed Almarri. “It’s about enabling global opportunity, accelerating economic growth, and positioning Dubai as the most connected and future-ready city in the world.”
