More Indian Passport Holders Can Now Avail UAE’s Visa-On-Arrival Facility
Indian travelers now have broader access to the UAE’s visa-on-arrival program following an expansion that includes new eligibility criteria. Effective February 13, 2025, Indian nationals holding valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from six additional countries can now obtain a visa upon arrival in the UAE.
Expanded Eligibility Criteria
Previously, Indian passport holders qualified for visa-on-arrival if they had valid documentation from the United States, European Union member states, or the United Kingdom. Now, this privilege extends to those with valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
To be eligible, travelers must possess a valid ordinary passport with at least six months of validity from their arrival date. Additionally, they must ensure that their visa or residence permit from one of the specified countries is still valid at the time of entry.
Visa Fees and Payment Process
Upon arrival at UAE immigration control points, eligible travelers must pay their visa fees. The costs are categorized as follows:
- 4-day visa: AED 100
- 14-day extension: AED 250
- 60-day visa: AED 250
Strategic Partnership and Travel Ease
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the UAE’s Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), highlighted that this initiative aligns with the strengthening strategic partnership between Abu Dhabi and New Delhi.
The move aims to simplify travel for Indian nationals, offering them and their families better access to opportunities in the UAE. It also promotes the country as a global tourism, business, and economic hub while attracting skilled professionals and entrepreneurs from India.
Boosting Tourism and Business
With its world-class infrastructure, vibrant economy, and growing business ecosystem, the UAE continues to position itself as a premier destination for travelers and investors. The visa expansion is expected to further enhance travel flexibility, encourage long-term stays, and boost business and employment opportunities for Indian nationals.
For Indian travelers looking to explore new opportunities, this updated visa-on-arrival policy offers greater convenience and accessibility to one of the world’s most dynamic nations.
