Abu Dhabi is reinforcing its ambition to remain a key player in the global energy sector, with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan directing ADNOC to further strengthen its position as a leading and reliable energy provider.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of ADNOC’s Board of Directors at the company’s headquarters, where he reviewed ADNOC’s efforts to maintain reliable energy supplies amid recent developments affecting maritime navigation in the region.
During the meeting, Sheikh Khaled reviewed ADNOC’s operational and financial performance and highlighted the importance of the company’s flexibility and integrated operations in responding to an increasingly complex global energy environment.
A key focus was ADNOC’s newly launched global liquefied natural gas (LNG) marketing and trading platform. Launched in July, the platform is targeting 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG by 2030 and beyond. The initiative is expected to give customers greater diversity in supply sources while expanding access to ADNOC’s growing gas portfolio.
Sheikh Khaled directed ADNOC to intensify efforts across its integrated value chain, connecting production, trading, logistics and market intelligence. This approach is aimed at strengthening the company’s ability to serve customers and maintain dependable energy supplies in global markets.
Before the meeting, Sheikh Khaled also visited ADNOC’s Emergency Control Centre, where he met frontline employees and business continuity teams. He commended their commitment to maintaining safe and efficient operations under challenging circumstances.
The latest direction underscores Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy of positioning ADNOC not only as a major energy producer, but also as an increasingly integrated global energy company with capabilities spanning production, LNG, trading and logistics.
As global energy markets face growing geopolitical and supply-chain uncertainties, ADNOC’s focus on operational resilience and diversified energy supply is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting customers and strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global energy hub.
