Dubai just witnessed one of the most dramatic car unveilings in recent memory. The all-new BMW M5 Touring didn’t roll into the city—it descended from the skies. Suspended from a helicopter, the performance wagon soared over Dubai’s skyline before being carefully lowered onto a special platform by AGMC, BMW’s local dealer. From there, it was driven straight to an exclusive launch event, marking its spectacular arrival in the UAE.
This newest addition to BMW’s M line-up signals the brand’s bold expansion in the high-performance segment while accelerating its move toward electrification.
Power Meets Precision
Under the hood, the M5 Touring pairs a 4.4-litre V8 with an electric motor for a combined 727 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. This M Hybrid system delivers blistering performance—0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds—while offering an electric-only range of up to 67 km.
Power is channelled through an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, M xDrive all-wheel drive, and Active M Differential, ensuring both razor-sharp track handling and everyday drivability. Top speed? A standard 250 km/h, extendable to 305 km/h with the optional M Driver’s Package.
Design That Dominates
With muscular wheel arches, a long roofline, and flared shoulders, the M5 Touring commands presence from every angle. Its black roof contrasts sharply against body-coloured panels, while the sculpted front fascia features large air intakes and an illuminated BMW M kidney grille. Slim LED tail lights, vertical reflectors, a split rear diffuser, and quad exhausts add to its aggressive stance.
Best of Both Worlds
BMW’s M Hybrid system blends the brand’s latest M TwinPower Turbo technology with a fifth-generation electric drive unit. The result is instant torque, seamless power delivery, and the ability to cruise silently on electric power at speeds up to 140 km/h. The 18.6 kWh battery supports AC charging up to 11 kW, making quick top-ups easy.
