Dubai’s Charity Auction Raises AED 38 Million for Mothers’ Endowment Fund

In the Age of Information, news media faces both unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges.

In a remarkable display of generosity, Dubai hosted the highly anticipated “Most Noble Number” charity auction during the Holy Month of Ramadan at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Dubai. The event, directed by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed to raise funds for the Mothers’ Endowment Fund, a key initiative to support mothers in need across the UAE. The auction not only showcased the city’s spirit of philanthropy but also highlighted its continued commitment to social causes.

A Night of Giving and Generosity

Organized by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in collaboration with Emirates Auction, the event brought together prominent businessmen, philanthropists, and influential figures who engaged in spirited bidding wars for special number plates and mobile numbers. The evening’s ultimate goal was to generate significant contributions for the endowment fund, which is set to benefit mothers in the UAE, supporting their well-being and ensuring their future.

The charity auction raised an impressive AED 38.095 million, with the funds being channeled directly into the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. The auction’s success was a testament to the UAE’s culture of giving, and the remarkable enthusiasm shown by the bidders highlighted their strong commitment to the cause.

Record-Breaking Bids for Special Numbers

The auction featured 31 exclusive numbers, including a range of RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) special plates, as well as exclusive mobile numbers from Etisalat by e& and du. The bidding was fierce, with participants vying for these coveted numbers, often with impressive sums.

The highest bid of the night came in at a remarkable AED 4 million for the V39 number plate, which became the most sought-after item in the auction. Other numbers, such as the 0587777777 mobile number from du, fetched AED 3.2 million, while the 0545555555 number from Etisalat by e& secured AED 2.875 million.

The majority of the funds raised, totaling AED 29.025 million, came from the RTA special plate numbers, with the remaining proceeds coming from Etisalat and du special mobile numbers, which raised AED 4.135 million and AED 4.935 million respectively.

The Broader Impact of the Auction

This auction is not just about the remarkable sums of money raised but also the collective effort towards a common cause. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has long championed philanthropic initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the UAE’s residents. The funds raised through this event will go towards supporting mothers, providing them with the resources they need to build a better future for their families and communities.

The event also set the stage for future opportunities for individuals across the UAE to contribute to the campaign. With additional auctions planned, both in person and online, the initiative offers multiple avenues for the public to donate and show their support.

A Commitment to Unity and Compassion

As the auction came to a close, it left behind a lasting impression of unity, compassion, and generosity. Every bid placed, no matter the size, contributed to the greater mission of providing sustainable support for mothers across the UAE. Dubai continues to lead by example, demonstrating the power of community and collective effort in making a tangible difference.

Donations for the campaign are still being accepted via the campaign’s website and the toll-free number 800 9999, allowing more people to contribute to this noble cause. The funds raised from this event will continue to fuel the Mothers’ Endowment Fund, making a lasting impact for generations to come.

The “Most Noble Number” charity auction was not only a success in terms of fundraising but also a powerful reminder of the spirit of giving that defines Dubai and the UAE as a whole. As the city continues to support those in need, the generosity shown during this event serves as an inspiration for others to give back to their communities.
